Street Medicine
Delivering healthcare directly to people experiencing homelessness.
Our Street Medicine Team provides on-site healthcare in encampments, interim housing facilities, and shelters throughout Los Angeles County. We meet people where they are to reduce barriers to care and improve health outcomes.
Who Can Access the Street Medicine services?
People currently experiencing homelessness (living on the street, in encampments, or in vehicles)
Individuals staying in shelters, transitional housing, or temporary programs
Anyone without stable or permanent housing
People in need of medical care but unable to access traditional clinics or hospitals
Community members in Skid Row who face barriers to healthcare
What services does the Street Medicine offer?
Medical Care
• Primary & preventive care
• Check-ups, chronic disease management, and patient education
• Acute/urgent care for minor injuries, illnesses, and infections
• Wound cleaning, dressing and follow-up care
• Vaccinations (Hepatitis A, flu, COVID-19, and more)
Behavioral Health & Substance Use Support
• Mental health screenings and counseling
• Linkage to psychiatric care
• Substance use screening, harm reduction, and treatment referrals
Testing & Specialty Services
• STI testing and treatment
• HIV care coordination and linkage to specialty care
• Blood pressure, diabetes, and other health screenings
• Referrals to specialty medical care
Navigation & Support
• Assistance with Medi-Cal and other insurance enrollment
• Housing navigation and connection to supportive services
• Medication prescriptions, refills, and adherence support
