Youth Services

JWCH operates a variety of programs and facilities throughout Los Angeles County for at-risk youth.

Covenant House
The lifestyle of street kids places them at particular risk for health problems and injury. Convenant House provides both residential and non-residential homeless youth comprehensive emergency and primary care medical exams, psychological, and psychiatric services and referrals to specialty care such as optometry and dentistry. Youth are provided important information on nutrition, STD/HIV prevention and other issues related to maintaining healthy lifestyles.

Reproductive Awareness Program
The Reproductive Awareness Program(RAP) empower high-risk and high-need youth ages 12-19 throughout Los Angeles County with the knowledge, understanding, and behavioral skills needed to make responsible decisions concerning sexual and reproductive health. JWCH RAP has developed proven strategies and best practices to:

  1. Optimally delivery comprehensive, medically accurate, unbiased sexual health education
  2. Provide clinical linkages to sexual and reproductive health services to high-need youth

RAP was established in 1985. RAP is funded by California Department of Public Health/Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Division.

OUR GOAL:
To decrease adolescent pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections by educating young people about sexual and reproductive health, providing information on eligibility and access to reproductive health care services, and engaging local communities to promote adolescent health.

Hepatitis C Services

Many people infected with Hepatitis C (Hep C) do not experience any symptoms for long periods and are unaware of their infection. Over time, Hep C can cause serious health problems like liver disease or liver cancer. Since it is difficult to know if you have Hep C, the only way to know your status is to get tested.

Wesley provides free and low-cost Hep C testing, diagnosis, treatment, and specialty pharmacy services. We offer education on hepatitis prevention, risk factors, and resources to help you manage your symptoms. Call to schedule an appointment with a provider today.
