JWCH Institute, Inc. | Wesley Health Centers is a non-profit 501c(3) with Federally Qualified Health Center designation.
We provide high-quality, comprehensive care to a diverse group of individuals, including uninsured, low-income, and homeless individuals in Los Angeles County. Our services include but are not limited to, primary care, dentistry, psychiatry, behavioral health, outpatient and residential substance use disorder treatment, case management, optometry, podiatry, chiropractic care, family planning, HIV treatment and prevention, radiology, lab services, pharmacy services, and supportive services such as housing assistance, benefits enrollment, and health education. We provide these services to patients regardless of their ability to afford care.
We provide a total of 442,189 health center visits in 2024 which included a total of 215,738 medical care service visits. In addition, we provided a total of 70,944 dental visits, 24,062 mental health visits, 16,064 substance use disorder treatment visits, 4,157 vision service visits, 36,499 visits for other professional services (nutritionist, comprehensive perinatal services program (CPSP), chiropractic, podiatry) and 74,725 supportive service visits, which included services such as enrollment, case management, health education, interpreter services and others.
65 Years of Service:
First established by a group of Los Angeles physicians as The Attending Staff Association of John Wesley County Hospital, Inc. JWCH began in 1960 as a private, nonprofit public benefit corporation dedicated to improving health services, health education, and medical research.
Though our name was shortened to the JWCH Institute, Inc., in 1979, for over 65 years our commitment has been the same: to deliver community-based healthcare and social support programs to the region’s most underserved populations.
Our Mission:
To improve the health status and well-being of underserved segments of the population of Los Angeles County through the direct provision or coordination of health care, health education services and research.
Our Facts:
